Downfall

We are witnessing the last days of the New Labour Reich. Everyone remaining in the bunker with the Fuhrer is either drunk, mad or delusional, or all three.

The scorched earth policy over loans for lordships is not halting the opposition advance. The remaining ideologues are blind to the fact that their cause is rotten, revealed and reviled.

The question now is, will peace be on honourable terms; or will Fuhrer Tony struggle to the bitter self-delusional end? The certainty now is that the next leader of the Labour Party will inherit a shattered, corrupt and defeated party.

This is a call to arms for every Labour MP with a remaining shred of self respect. Rescue your party, dethrone your flailing leader, or face a future of irrelevance, public loathing and disgust.

Chris goes somewhere, somewhere experiences violence

Chris' trip to Belarus has, as usual, ended in protests and violence. Riot police were called in to end what was reportedly a peaceful protest. The EU and US have said they plan to impose restrictions on Belarus, as they're not satisfied that the election was conducted fairly.

For those of you wishing to avoid riots, Chris will be enjoying a drink in the West End of London on Wednesday evening. I would recommend remaining outside the M25 after 7pm.

NHS funding crisis payoff

Every cloud has a silver lining. A Department of Health spokesman announced today that, due to the current severe funding difficulties facing the NHS, the size of nurses’ uniforms will be cut considerably.

The move has received a mixed reception from health care professionals and patients groups. One doctor, who preferred to remain anonymous, said:
"Hubba hubba! Wooooooo!"

Pup bites man shock

You couldn’t make it up. Professional vegan Paul McCartney and his uni-ped wife, Heather Mills, were in Canada today to have their photo taken with the cute and furry ickle bebby seals (pictured left).

All was going well, the seal pups wide eyes glistened in the photographer’s lenses, until one of the ungrateful little blighters decided to take a bite out of Macca’s wife.

Old man finally achieves election!

George, Katrina and CCTV

Apparently George knew everyone in New Orleans might die, but did nothing. This leaves several possiblities, ranging from the forgiving to the seriously mental.

1) He figured they probably wouldn't be able to build up the levees to sensible levels, so suggested to the town Mayor to evacuate if the weather turned bad. The Mayor encouraged evacuation, but lots of people stayed and died.

2) He said 'Great, they're only poor people and poor people don't vote for me. I think I'll wait for the diaster, then head down, kiss some babies, shake some hands and get boosted ratings, both from the lower porportion of poor people in the area, and the general media love.'

3) He had rather a lot on that morning and weather phenomena were bottom of the list, after management of the war we're officially not still fighting in Iraq, peace process in the Middle East, removing opportunities for anti-Semetic nuclear weapons acquisition in Iran, managing an energy crisis at home (probably), economic difficulties (maybe), bloody-minded activists and smiling for the camera and getting the words in the right order.

Anyway. Doubtless the news in this country will tell us how evil George is, and the news in the US will say how well-prepared he was and how it could have been so much worse. It's not news really - 'Busy politician ignores one of a hundred life-or-death warnings he receives every day'. I only wrote it cause the site was quiet.
