I may have inadvertently given the impression that in my opinion George Galloway, the Respect candidate for Bethnal Green (below, centre), is a crook.
I would like to make it absolutely clear to everyone, particularly his lawyers, that I withdraw any and all remarks of that nature.
George Galloway was awarded a large amount of money in a court case following allegations by the Daily Telegraph that he had received $3m from Saddam Hussein. That allegation was proved to be untrue and, accordingly, Mr Galloway was proved not to be a crooked, litigious associate of a dictator. Merely a litigious associate of a dictator.
